Aaliyah Thanisha Philipp is a 23-year-old artist who was raised in Berlin. Her parents sent her to dance classes early on. At the age of 5 she found joy in ballet and flamenco. As the nearly always youngest student in classes, Aaliyah showed that she had found her passion in dance. Numerous dance classes, championships, being a member of hip hop / street dance crews and training internationally like L.A., shaped the young talent. During her school years Aaliyah already began working as a freelance dancer, performer and model. In addition to choreography focused training and work in the commercial sector, she also showed interest in subcultural dances and caused a s8r as one of the youngest hip-hop talents in the city. 
At 16 she met Sophie - Yukiko and got to know voguing and the berlin ballroom community. She became part of the "House of Mulan" in the Kiki scene and has since competed in the categories vogue fem and face. She is now a member of the international „Kiki House of Laveaux“. Later, Aaliyah became very involved in the berlin dancehall scene and was mentored by the well - known german dancehall dancer Swaggi Maggi. Dancehall awakened a different artistic side from the young talent. She found healing and strength in the style that also represents her cultural background. She became more active in teaching, performing and choreographing outside of the commercial dance industry. She wants to represent the values and artistry of subcultural dances on larger platforms in the art scene. Working in both the commercial and the artistic field, Aaliyah finds her balance as a dancer and artist.

In 2021 Aaliyah started her career as a DJ specializing in dancehall music. As a dancehall DJ she combines her Jamaican roots with her love for dance.
