Edmund Telgenkämper, born in 1968 in Gladbeck, studied acting at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover from 1989 to 1993. After his guest debut at Theater Basel, he was a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Hamburg from 1993 to 1998. After two years as a guest at Theater Basel, he worked at Burgtheater in Vienna from 2000 to 2003 and 2002 as a guest at the Salzburg Festival. He was an ensemble member of Theater Basel from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2015 he was an ensemble member of Münchner Kammerspiele. He was an ensemble member of Schauspielhaus Zurich until the end of the 2018/2019 season.
He also worked at Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Bayerische Staatsoper during the 2018/2019 season. Since the 2020/21 season, Edmund Telgenkämper has again been permanently engaged at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
