FRED APKE - actor, screenwriter, playwright and director.  He graduated from drama school in Berlin and performed on various German stages. From 1987 he worked for Norwegian television as a scriptwriter and actor. He has directed both for television and Norwegian theatre. In 1991 he returned to Germany, where he continued to work as an actor and director.  In 1987 he received a grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for his play "Glasaugen". In 2000, Fred Apke received the Audience Award as an actor for a contemporary comedy at the Bavarian Theatre Festival. 

Since his production of "Faust" for the Polish theatre in 2003, he has lived and worked mainly in Poland, where many of his plays have premiered. 

In 2009, Apke won the first prize of the Polish Youth Theatre Association. In 2010, he was the winner of the Lodz Comedy Writers' Competition.

2011 Prime Scholarship for his screenplay "Jablonki"

From 2012 - 2016 he was a consultant at the Prime Workshop for Children and Film.

As a film actor he played in several German, Norwegian and Polish productions (in English, German and Polish) - among others he worked with Darren Darko, Terje Maerli, Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Jaroslaw Marszewski, Edward Porębny, Juliusz Machulski, Kinga Debska.

Most recently, he played in the German series "Deutsches Haus" - and in Kinga Debska's "Gra z Cieniem". 

Fred Apke lives with Polish actress Marta Klubowicz in Warsaw and Berlin.
