Klaus Rohrmoser is an Austrian actor, director, theater manager and author. He has worked at many theaters in German-speaking countries, including the Vienna Volkstheater, Theater in der Josefstadt, Vienna Festival Weeks, Freie Volksbühne Berlin, Landestheater Tübingen, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Volkstheater Munich, etc. He played HAMLET in Shakespeare's Hamlet, the title roles in RICHARD III and MACBETH and JAGO in Othello. In Franz Xaver Kroetz's Not Fish Not Fowl he played HERMANN, in Herbert Achternbusch's ELLA the leading role, DANTON in Georg Büchner's Danton's Death, and in Thomas Bernhard's Theatermacher the leading role, BRUSCON. Most recently he played in the 7 DEADLY SINS at the Tyrolean Folk Theater 2023/24. From 1998 to 2012 he was director of drama at the Tyrolean State Theater and founded the Tyrolean Dramatists Festival, which he still directs today. Klaus Rohrmoser has played various leading roles in a number of films: Pierre in KALTES FIEBER (director: Joseph Rusnak), Chris in MALAMBO (director: Milan Dor), Radischat in OSSEGG ODER DIE TRUHRHEIT IN HÄNSEL UND GRETEL (director: Thees Klahn), Robert in UNTER FREUDEN (director: Lukas Stepanik), Thomas in CHRISTMAS WITH WILLI (director: Curt Faudon), and most recently Max in the film PRESENT OF THE PAST/Inside a Family (director: Immanuel Degn), shot in Hollywood/LA. He also appeared in various television series and films such as THE FIFTH SEASON, TATORT, DERRICK, COMMISSIONER REX, THE ALTE, SOKO KITZ, FOUR WOMEN AND A DEATH........
In 1984, the Milan Dor film Malambo, starring Klaus Rohrmoser, was awarded the Grand Prize at the MANNHEIM FILM FESTIVAL; in 1990, Klaus Rohrmoser received the MAX OPÜLS PRIZE in Saarbrücken as best actor.
