Max Rudolf Poerting was born and raised in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, in 1996. After his A levels in 2014, he went on to participate in "Theater Total", an independent theatre project based in Bochum. This included an adaptation of the novel "The Possessed" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, which played on a tour for several months throughout Germany and Switzerland.
In 2016 he began his acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen/Bochum, graduating in 2020.
His thesis project, "A Most Dangerous Time", which he writed, co-directed and played in, was nominated for the "Folkwang-Award".
During his studies he was part of the ensemble for the production of "Das Internat" at Theater Dortmund, directed by Ersan Mondtag, which was invited to the 56th "Berliner Theatertreffen". He also played in "Was glänzt", a production by Schauspielhaus Bochum (Director: Philipp Becker), which was honored with an award at the 30th Competition of Germanophonic Drama Schools.
Since the summer of 2020, he has been an ensemble member at Münchner Volkstheater.
