Mike Burstyn is an internationally acclaimed American/Israeli actor, director, producer & entertainer. Born in New York, he has been one of Israel’s most popular film and stage artists for over five decades, winning three Israeli Academy Awards for his portrayal of the beloved character Kuni Lemel and for “The Komediant,” the documentary about his childhood in the Yiddish theatre with his parents and twin sister. He recently wrote and directed his award-winning Israeli feature film “Azimuth”, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War, now on Amazon Prime. He also stars in the new Israeli TV series “Judah” on HULU and is host of his YouTube & podcast channels “Mike Burstyn & Friends.” Mike is currently director of dubbing at Netflix for the English versions of their foreign language series, among them the hit Israeli series “Fauda,” & “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem.” During his illustrious career he has starred on Broadway in "Barnum," "The Rothschilds," “Inquest,” “The Megilla” & "Ain't Broadway Grand," receiving multiple Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. Among his recent stage credits Mike starred in “Jolson, The Musical,” “Lansky,” “On 2nd Avenue,” & ”The Tale of The Allergist’s Wife” opposite Valerie Harper. He starred and hosted his own hit TV variety show, The Mike Burstyn Show in The Netherlands. Mike is a veteran of the IDF and was recently honored in Israel with a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Israeli Union of Performing Artists.
He has just concluded portraying the lead in "Die Zweiflers," a new series for ARD-Tubokultur.
