Nicolas Cazalé is a French actor, director, screenwriter and painter. He studied at the Florent School in Paris, one of the most prestigious institutions for the training of actors in France.

Nicolas began his career in theater at a very young age, and in 2002 he made his television debut. Also in 2002 he made his film debut with “Les Chemins de l’Oued” (2002), a film directed by Gaël Morel, which gave him the opportunity to explore his French-Algerian roots and connect with significant cultural themes.

His first film starring role came in 2004 with Ismaël Ferrouchki’s “Le grand voyage”, where Nicolas plays a young man who takes his father on a pilgrimage to Mecca by car. Recognition, however, came with his performance in the film “Le Clan” (2004), directed by Gaël Morel, where he played one of the three brothers in this complex family drama. His performance earned him critical acclaim.

Nicolas Cazalé achieved greater international notoriety with his role in the film “Le Fils de l’épicier” (2007), directed by Éric Guirado. In this film, he plays Antoine, a young man who returns to his hometown to take over the family grocery business. His performance was praised for its authenticity and emotional depth, and the film became a hit both in France and abroad, earning him a César nomination for best newcomer. In 2008 he was awarded the EFP Shooting Star, given at the Berlinale, for the most promising European newcomer.

Nicolas has also worked in films such as “Pars vite et reviens tard” (2007), “Mensch” (2009), “Overdose” (2022) and “Magnificat” (2023), among many others.

He has also worked in other languages such as English in “Stretch” (2011), alongside David Carradine, or in Spanish as in “Caótica Ana” (2007) by Julio Medem, and, recently, in Esperando a Dalí (2023) or El Internado: Las Cumbres (2022).
