It's a yearly tradition: at the end of the year, Zapp airs a family series again—this time, Hein. Visitors of Cinekid can already watch it on the big screen. "That makes it even more epic," says lead actor Brandon (17).

Why did you want to become an actor?
"I'm a huge movie lover, and it seemed fun to actually act in a film or series myself. I was taking theater classes and occasionally auditioning, but I never thought I'd actually land a role. The fact that it worked out is a real opportunity."

What makes acting so fun?
"It's fun to step into someone else's shoes. It doesn’t matter if that person is very similar to you or not. In some ways, I’m like Hein, so for this role, I could draw from my own experiences. Playing someone very different from yourself is harder, but also more fun because you can really experiment with the role."

Many well-known Dutch actors are in Hein. How was it to be on set with them?
"That was awesome! I had already seen most of them in films or series before, and then suddenly you're on set with them. I felt so honored to act alongside all those big names. I'm usually never nervous, but this time I was. You try a bit harder when you're standing next to someone like Frank Lammers!"

Did you learn anything from acting with them?
"You actually always learn from acting with others. I watch what someone does and subconsciously pick up on it. Sometimes I’ll act out a scene and suddenly think, 'Hey, my co-star did this earlier!' For example, acting with your eyes. Even if you don't have any lines, you can still convey part of the story through your gaze."

Hein is being shown on the big screen at Cinekid instead of on TV. Does that make a difference to you?
"A big screen definitely has a wow-effect. It makes everything feel even more epic. Hein is about life after death, but it's presented in a very light and comedic way. It’s really a family series. So, don’t be afraid—just watch it!"
